Guarantee Terms & Conditions

We stand behind the work we do. Our 5-year guarantee on fillings and 10-year guarantee on crowns are our way of saying we're confident in the materials we use and the care we take, and that if something isn't right, we'll make it right. Here's how our guarantees work, in plain language.

Our Promise

5 Years on Fillings · 10 Years on Crowns

Applies to all fillings and crowns completed at our practice, provided the simple conditions below are met.

What's Covered

Our guarantee covers the restoration itself, the filling or crown we placed, against failure that occurs under normal, everyday use.

Material or Workmanship Failure

If a filling chips out or a crown fractures or comes loose under normal biting and chewing, we'll assess and repair or replace it at no charge.

Marginal Breakdown

If the seal around the edge of the restoration breaks down and allows new decay to start at that same site, it's covered.

Keeping Your Guarantee Valid

There's nothing complicated to do — just the same good habits we'd recommend anyway:

1
Attend your regular check-ups

A check-up and clean every 6–12 months lets us catch and address small issues before they become bigger ones.

2
Let us know early

If something feels off with a filling or crown, get in touch as soon as you can rather than waiting it out.

3
Look after your oral health day-to-day

Routine brushing, flossing and sensible care of the tooth around the restoration keeps everything in good shape.

What's Not Covered

Like most guarantees, ours is there for genuine, unexpected failure — not for things outside our control:

  • Accidental damage or trauma, for example from a fall, sporting knock, or biting down on something hard like ice or a pen lid.
  • Wear from teeth grinding or clenching (bruxism) where a recommended night guard hasn't been worn.
  • Decay or gum disease occurring elsewhere in the mouth, unrelated to the restored tooth.
  • Restorations placed or altered by another dental practice after the original treatment.
  • A significant lapse in regular check-ups, where we haven't had the chance to monitor the tooth.

If Something Goes Wrong

Simply give us a call or book an appointment and let us know what's happened. We'll examine the tooth, and if it falls within the guarantee, we'll repair or replace the restoration at no cost to you. It's genuinely that straightforward — we'd rather fix it than argue about it.

*The guarantee period begins on the date the filling or crown is fitted. Terms may be updated from time to time — please call the practice to confirm current details before treatment.
